Information We Process
- Weibo login state: after you sign in inside the app, WeiboVault stores the required local session state to access Weibo content you are allowed to view.
- Weibo archive content: posts, timestamps, engagement data, comments, reposts, images, videos, and related raw data you choose to back up are stored in the local archive folder.
- Activation information: when activating or validating a license, the app sends the activation code, device identifier, app version, and validation information to our activation service.
- Update and download information: the app requests release configuration and update manifests to check new versions, download installers, and load required runtime configuration.
- Diagnostic logs: the app writes task and error logs locally. Logs may include task status, Weibo URLs, API error details, or response summaries needed for troubleshooting.
How We Use Information
- To sign in to Weibo, back up content, browse local archives, resume tasks, and export offline files.
- To validate activation status, show expiration notices, and control backup and export features that require authorization.
- To check for updates, download required resources, and help diagnose backup or export failures.
- To analyze issues and improve the product when you voluntarily send logs or screenshots to support.
Local Storage and Uploads
Weibo archive content, media files, exported files, login state, and diagnostic logs are stored on your computer by default and are not automatically uploaded to our servers. Activation checks, update checks, and downloads access ByteFuse services; Weibo collection accesses Weibo services.
Third-Party Services
- Weibo services: the app accesses content you are allowed to view through Weibo endpoints such as m.weibo.cn. Weibo processing is governed by Weibo terms and privacy policies.
- ByteFuse services: the app may access appapi.bytefuse.cn, oss.bytefuse.cn, apps.bytefuse.cn, and related domains for activation, updates, downloads, and purchase pages.
Your Choices and Controls
- You can choose the archive and export folders, and you can delete archives, exported files, and log files yourself.
- You can sign out of Weibo in the app or clear local app data to remove saved login state.
- You can stop tasks, delete task records, or uninstall the app. Uninstalling the app may not remove archive folders you saved separately.
Security
Please protect your computer, archive folders, exported files, and log files. WeiboVault tries to minimize unnecessary data transfer, but local file access, backup, and deletion are controlled by your operating system and your actions.
Children
WeiboVault is intended for users who need data backup and archiving. It is not designed specifically for children. Minors should use it only with permission from a parent or guardian.
